What should I look for in hiring an attorney to represent me in my Florida wrongful death case?
Experience, experience and experience. You should ask any attorney how many wrongful death cases he’s had, what type of cases he’s had. In other words, were they trucking cases? Were they medical negligence cases? What were they? They could be nursing home cases. What were the results? The reason for that is twofold. One, the more experience a lawyer has, the better results you’re going to get. Two, the insurance company who makes the decision on the other side, whether to settle a wrongful death case or go to trial, they evaluate your lawyer and they have a track record and know how many cases he’s tried and whether he can walk his talk and go tell a jury and get you some justice. If that’s the case, then the chances are good they’re going to settle your case. If he’s a beginner, the chances are good you’re going to have to go to trial.
