Why do I need a lawyer if I have been injured at the hospital?
Probably because the hospital is not willing to admit they ever made a mistake. In my 39 years of practicing law, I’ve seen one case of medical negligence where the defendant or the responsible party was willing to admit they made a mistake. Generally speaking, hospitals take the position that they can’t and don’t make mistakes and that if they put their best foot forward, they’re not responsible. Unfortunately, we now have many hospitals that are for profit. If you’re in one of those hospitals and you get malpracticed upon, you’re in big trouble. You’re not only going to need a lawyer, you’re going to need a legal nurse, you’re going to need a patient advocate and you’re going to need all the help you can get.
