Does Roundup Cause Cancer?
A recent study published by Science Direct found that exposure to glyphosate raises the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) cancer by 41%.
Who Is At Risk To Get Cancer?
The individuals most at risk for developing cancer are farm workers and other individuals with workplace exposure to the herbicide, such as employees in garden centers, nurseries, and landscapers. Individuals are exposed to glyphosate from breathing it while spraying, mixing or cleanup, or through drinking water or eating food contaminated with it. Several farmers, landscapers and home users who have developed non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma have come forward with their suspicions that the cancer was caused by exposure to Roundup Weed Killer. Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a cancer that results in the body producing too many abnormal lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
Common symptoms of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma include:
- Enlarged lymph nodes
- Swollen belly
- Chest pain or pressure
- Shortness of breath or cough
